Job Title: Design Draughtsman – HVAC
CTC- 15 LPA
Location - Mumbai
Reporting To: Manager – Mechanical
Experience: 7–10 Years
Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / ITI (Full Time)
Role Summary
The Design Draughtsman – HVAC will be responsible for preparing detailed air conditioning design drawings for commercial and light industrial buildings. The role involves coordination with multiple services, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining design standards as per project requirements.
Key Objectives
- Prepare drawings as per contract specifications and standards
- Ensure coordination with architectural and other service layouts
- Maintain quality, clarity, and presentation standards in drawings
- Deliver drawings within defined timelines and productivity norms
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed HVAC working drawings as per project requirements
- Ensure technical accuracy and compliance with specifications
- Coordinate HVAC drawings with civil, architectural, electrical, plumbing, and firefighting services
- Prepare multi-service coordination drawings
- Resolve technical issues with design and site teams
- Obtain approvals from consultants and issue approved drawings to site
- Maintain drawing registers and daily work records (timesheets)
- Support quality assurance processes
- Prepare record drawings (as-built)
- Identify additional work requirements and support project team
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including:
- Chiller plants (air-cooled and water-cooled)
- AHU systems (CAV & VAV)
- Fan coil units
- Package and split AC systems
- Ventilation and exhaust systems
- Smoke control systems
- Expertise in ducting and piping design, including sizing and calculations
- Understanding of building construction and MEP coordination
- Strong drafting skills using:
- AutoCAD, Revit (Mandatory)
- BIM tools like Navisworks / Revizto
- Ability to perform duct sizing, pipe sizing, pump head and fan pressure calculations
- Knowledge of international standards and codes (GCC preferred)
- Good communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
Education & Certifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / ITI (Full Time)
- Training in AutoCAD / Revit / Microstation
- Knowledge of BIM tools (Navisworks / Revizto) is mandatory
- HVAC training is an added advantage
Experience
- 7–10 years of experience in HVAC design drafting
- Minimum 5 years in building construction drawings
- At least 4 years of Revit experience
- Experience in GCC projects preferred
- Site experience in execution/installation is an advantage
